Nilstorp stopped 33 of 36 shots in an OT win over St. John's to win the Calder Cup on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Nilstorp finished the playoffs with a 13-5 record, 2.17 goals against, and .919 save percentage. With the announcement that the NHL Stars will not be re-signing Tim Thomas, the door has opened for Nilstorp to make an impression at camp and earn the backup spot behind Kari Lehtonen.

Nilstorp led the Texas Stars to their first Calder Cup Championship last season and grabbed a NHL game. But the Stars have decided not to re-sign him, so he's now taking his talents to the Swedish Elite League. Drop him if he's sitting on a deep dynasty roster.
Nilstorp spent most of the year as the primary goalie for the Texas Stars (AHL), but he did manage to appear in five games at the NHL level. The signing of Dan Ellis to be Kari Lehtonen's backup seals Nilstorp's fate as half of the team's AHL goaltending duo for the next couple years.
Dallas signed Nilstorp after a long career over in Sweden and he figures to serve as a backup to Jack Campbell at the AHL level at a minimum. Dallas has a nice track record of finding goalies and there's a decent chance that Nilstorp gives Richard Bachman a battle to serve as Kari Lehotnen's backup in Dallas.
