He made an immediate impact after making his NHL debut in November, providing seven tallies and 10 assists in his first 23 contests. The 22-year-old forward was a good fit alongside Nazem Kadri, who led the team with 75 points in 82 games in 2023-24. Zary will likely claim a middle-six roster spot with the Flames out of training camp but could have his role altered. He might play more down the middle during the upcoming campaign, which could present an opportunity to skate between Jonathan Huberdeau and Anthony Mantha. Alternatively, Zary may take Kadri's place alongside Martin Pospisil and Andrei Kuzmenko.
