Considering Steeves has logged just seven career NHL games over the last three seasons, fantasy players probably shouldn't be expecting him to suddenly secure a full-time NHL gig -- especially having signed a one-year, two-way contract in the offseason. Undrafted out of the University of Notre Dame, the 24-year-old center has put up impressive numbers in the minors, including racking up 27 goals and 30 assists in 65 regular-season games with the Marlies last year. In dynasty formats, the Minnesota native might be worth stashing but should probably be passed over in re-draft formats. The Maple Leafs needed roster spots because Auston Matthews (upper body) and Matthew Knies (upper body) were activated from injured reserve and will play Saturday in Tampa Bay. Steeves was pointless in four NHL games this season before his demotion.
