2024 Fantasy Outlook
Health is the only thing standing in Hill's path to being a top-10 fantasy netminder. He dominated in the postseason in 2022-23 and helped the Golden Knights win the Stanley Cup. Hill opened last season with a 14-2-2 run, leading the NHL in every stat in the first couple of months. The sky seemed the limit, but injuries took him down for the third season in a row, and he missed almost two months mid-season. This past summer, Hill's sole focus was building up health to prevent injuries. If successful, he could be better than top-10. Handcuff him to newcomer Ilya Samsonov as a precaution. Gives up season-high six goals

Hill stopped 28 of 34 shots in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Oilers.
ANALYSIS
This was Hill's worst performance of the season, and this defeat also snapped his four-game winning streak. The Oilers are a tough matchup for any team in the league due to their star-studded offense, so fantasy managers shouldn't be overly concerned about Hill's upside going forward. He's gone 3-1-0 with a 2.50 GAA and a .918 save percentage in four December starts.

Hill started 2022-23 as backup to Logan Thompson and did well in that role with a 16-7-1 record, a 2.49 GAA and a .914 save percentage over 27 regular-season games. By the end of the campaign, Laurent Brossoit had also passed Hill on the depth chart, but Brossoit suffered a lower-body injury in the second round of the playoffs. Hill became the playoff hero with an 11-4 record, 2.17 GAA and .932 save percentage in 16 postseason games for the Stanley Cup champions. He faces significantly less doubt about his role entering 2023-24 -- Hill likely has a slight edge over Thompson to start Opening Night, though this could be a timeshare throughout the season. Vegas has a strong roster from top to bottom, so Hill should still be a solid No. 2 fantasy goalie this year.
Hill has spent the past four seasons in Arizona, playing at least 13 games in each of the past three years. His record over that span is 18-18-4, along with a 2.72 GAA, a .911 save percentage and three shutouts. He was traded from the Coyotes to the Sharks in July, as San Jose was determined to upgrade from the underwhelming duo of Devan Dubynk and Martin Jones. The Sharks also added James Reimer as an unrestricted free agent, and he and Hill appear likely to split time this coming season. A timeshare on a middling team is not conducive to fantasy success and as a result, Hill makes for nothing more than a late-round dart throw.
Hill made 13 appearances at the NHL level in 2019-20, recording a 2-4-3 record, a 2.62 GAA and a .918 save percentage. He also played in 20 games with AHL Tucson, notching a 2.40 GAA and .918 save percentage with the farm team. Hill signed a one-year contract extension with the Coyotes in September, but he'll almost certainly start 2020-21 in the minors. The 24-year-old goalie could be ready to see more time in the NHL soon, as No. 2 goalie Antti Raanta is entering the final year of his contract. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect to see much of Hill unless Raanta or Darcy Kuemper fall to injury during the upcoming season.
Hill has the natural advantage of being a huge goaltender at 6-foot-6 and 202 pounds. Last year, as a rookie, he went 1-3-0 with a 3.49 GAA and an .891 save percentage over four games with the Coyotes. Due to his relative lack of experience, Hill will have a tough time making a name for himself in the NHL. He's buried on the depth chart and will have to compete with the likes of Marek Langhamer and prospect Hunter Miska for the right to shine at the highest level in 2018-19.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Projected starter Wednesday
GVegas Golden Knights
November 20, 2024
Hill, who is in the starter's crease for Wednesday's morning skate, is likely to get the nod for this evening's road game against Toronto, per Luke Fox of Sportsnet.
ANALYSIS
Hill has an 8-3-1 record, 3.16 GAA and .885 save percentage in 12 appearances in 2024-25. It's a little interesting that Ilya Samsonov isn't projected to start against his former team, but he allowed four goals on 24 shots en route to a 5-2 loss to Washington on Sunday, so Vegas is likely reluctant to start him for a second straight game after that performance. Toronto ranks 17th offensively with 3.05 goals per game in 2024-25, but the Maple Leafs also have an 11-6-2 record, so they're a tough adversary despite the team's unremarkable scoring so far.
