LaCouture is headed to Russia after all, the Raleigh News & Observer reports. The forward has decided to skip out on his AHL teammates in Albany to play in the KHL.

ANALYSIS
The disappointed Hurricanes have suspended him, for all the good that'll do. LaCouture spent 11 games with the parent club at the beginning of the season, but after being reassigned to Albany, he evidently decided that the road back to Raleigh was too steep.
