Past Fantasy Outlooks
Weiman posted a .915 save percentage at Lake Erie of the AHL during the 2008-09 season. He is a possible future #1 starter who could see more active duty with the Avalanche this season -- after seeing no NHL action last season -- if the Avs get sick of Peter Budaj or Craig Anderson, or if there's an injury.
Weiman, began the 2007-08 season with the Avalanche and appeared in one game before being reassigned to Lake Erie of the OHL. He's had very good stats the past few seasons in the minors, with a SV% north of .900 every year and a GAA almost always under 3.00. He's a future #1 starter who could see more active duty with the Avs this season if either Budaj or Raycroft falters badly.
Weiman split his 2005-06 season between San Diego of the ECHL and Lowell of the AHL. His combined numbers weren't bad (20-18-4, 2.73 GAA, .911 save percentage), but he's marked for another season in the minors in 2006-07.
Peter Budaj will likely beat him out for the second goalie spot this year.
