Staios will return for his eighth season in Edmonton. He has little to no offensive value has he 35 goals during that stretch. The best thing about Staios is that he rarely missea a game, playing in at least 73 games seven out of those eight years.
Staios had only one goal and 121 PIMs in 82 games last season so he certainly has limited value for your fantasy team. If your league heavily rewards PIMs than he may be a bottom of the barrell defenseman for you.
A knee injury limited Staios to 58 games in '06-'07, but he's expected to be fully recovered for the start of the season. He'll provide his usual steady defensive play and 25 points in 2007-08.
His point totals the last three seasons: 26,28,28. Why expect anything different now?
Staios is one of the team leaders and a top four blueliner for Edmonton. He can play the game tough in his zone and can also hold his own on the other side of the rink. He'll score around 25 points while solidifying the blueline.
