Keith Primeau: Calls it a Career
CPhiladelphia Flyers  Free Agent
September 14, 2006
Primeau (concussion problems) officially announced his retirement Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Primeau had been trying to attempt a comeback, training furiously for the last several months. However, he was not given clearance to start training camp, and decided to hang up his skates for good. "This was very difficult for me to accept," Primeau said at a morning news conference. "I discussed it with family and friends before making the decision to retire from the game that I love."

Primeau retired in 2006 ending a 15 year career after failing to receive clearance to play because of lingering effects from a concussion. He finished his career with 266 goals and 619 points, and played in two All-Star games.
Primeau may return from concussion problems to rejoin the Flyers this season, but it highly unlikely he will ever be able to stay healthy long enough to be the player he once was. We advise staying away.
Primeau loses linemate Sami Kapanen for the first two months of the season, meaning that his output will take a small hit this season - expect 50 points.
