Nesterov has reportedly signed a contract with CSKA Moskva of the KHL, Hailey Salvian of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nesterov appeared in 38 games with the Flames in 2020-21 after spending three seasons in his native Russia, picking up four points while posting a minus-10 rating over that span. It wouldn't be surprising to see the 28-year-old blueliner spend the rest of his career playing in the KHL.

2020 Fantasy Outlook
Nesterov has spent the last three seasons overseas in Russia, racking up 60 points in 136 contests with CSKA Moscow. He was never a prolific scorer from the blue line during his previous NHL stint -- he had 17 points in 48 games split between the Lightning and the Canadiens in 2016-17. Now with the Flames, Nesterov will likely compete primarily with Oliver Kylington and Alex Petrovic for playing time on the third pairing. Without much of a physical element in his game, most fantasy managers will have little need to track Nesterov's production outside of the deepest of formats.

Closing in on deal with Calgary
DFree Agent
October 23, 2020
According to PuckPedia, Nesterov is close to signing a contract with the Flames.
ANALYSIS
Nesterov has been playing in his native Russia for CSKA Moscow for the past three seasons, totaling 14 goals and 46 helpers in 136 contests. If he does in fact land a deal with Calgary, Nesterov will likely slot in as a bottom-four option without much offensive upside, so he won't be worth consideration in most fantasy formats.
