DWinnipeg Jets  Juniors
June 28, 2014
Glover has been selected by the Jets with the 69th overall pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
ANALYSIS
Considering that he is a 6-3, 195-pound, right-handed shooting defenseman who is a terrific skater for his size, it was a bit of a surprise that Glover didn’t get more talk about possibly being a late first-round pick. There are two main knocks against Glover. First, he makes too many mental mistakes -- things like bad passes and ill-timed rushes. And second, he never really uses his great size to his advantage. Glover is off to the University of Minnesota next year. Both Rangers prospect Brady Skjei and Columbus prospect Mike Reilly are expected to return for their junior seasons, so Glover make be looking at limited ice time his freshman year.

2014 Fantasy Outlook
The Jets nabbed the 18-year-old Glover with the 69th overall pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. After plying his trade with the U.S. National Development Team Program the last two seasons, Glover will begin his freshman year at the University of Minnesota in 2014-15. Glover is viewed as a fleet skater capable of finding open skaters and picking up assists, though he hasn’t shown much aptitude as a goal-scorer to this point in his development. He’s also shown some occasional mental lapses while covering his own zone during his time with the USNDTP, but there’s still hope he can become a capable two-way blueliner. Glover’s long-term outlook with the Jets will likely reach more of a consensus based on how well or poorly he performs with the Golden Gophers over the next couple of seasons.
