Pokka has been considered the Blackhawks' top defensive prospect since he was acquired by Chicago in a trade with the Islanders in 2014, but he's clearly fallen out of favor with the organization since then. He's shown promise as an offensive-minded defenseman over the past three seasons with AHL Rockford, totaling 105 points in 220 games, but he's constantly a liability in his own end, a style of play that Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville simply won't tolerate. Chicago gave the 23-year-old one more chance to make the team when they signed him to a one-year contract extension this offseason, but Pokka was ultimately cut from training camp camp and placed on waivers before being assigned to AHL Rockford. The fact that no NHL club opted to claim the 2012 second-round pick off waivers is pretty telling in terms of how he's perceived by the rest of the league. It wouldn't be surprising to see Pokka head to Europe for the 2018-19 campaign, so fantasy owners in dynasty leagues may want to consider moving on from the underachieving Finn.
