Mark Flood will play the 2012-2013 season for Lokomotiv Yaroslovl in Russia’s KHL after posting seven points in 33 games for the Jets last season.
Flood had his first taste of the NHL last season, but was a non-factor adding only an assist in a handful of games. This season could bring more of the same as Flood may get the call up from the AHL when injuries hit the big club.
Flood was signed by the Islanders to play for their Bridgeport affiliate. The 25-year old will likely only see time with the big club if/when injuries hit the blue line hard.
He's bound for the minors again for 2008-09. He'll be just 24 on opening night, and the 'Canes won't rush him.
