Livingston was not offered a qualifying offer from the Kings and is currently without a team. If he finds a new team, he'll likely be on a two-way contract and won't see significant NHL time.
Acquired by the Sharks as an unrestricted free agent last March and given an entry-level contract was Livingston, a solid two-way player with five years of junior league experience split between Sault Ste. Marie and more recently, Plymouth, of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He's one to watch out for in the future.
Livingston is a big power-forward type, who is not easily moved. He's very good as a checker, and showed some scoring potential at the junior level. After being drafted by St. Louis in 2008, he was not re-signed and became eligible for the 2010 draft. He went undrafted and has accepted an invitation to Edmonton's training camp.
