Francis has retired from hockey, according to ESPNews.
ANALYSIS
Since the beginning of September, it seems like a slew of aging veterans are calling it quits. Guess this is one byproduct of the NHL's labor woes, as some of the long-time veterans don't have the motivation to start up again after taking a full year off. As for Francis, he's as classy as they come and should be joining Monday's retiree Mark Messier in the Hall of Fame down the road. Francis finishes his career with 549 goals, 1,249 assists and 1,798 points. Well done, sir.
