Campoli will need to start this season strong as Ottawa's defensive depth is quite good. He should see time on Ottawa's second power play unit, and if he remains healthy (he missed 15 games last year due to injury) he could put up close to 30 points. Campoli played hurt during much of the 2009-10 season with a sports hernia, which was treated during the offseason. He should be fully recovered for the beginning of the 2010-11 season.
The smooth-skating Campoli will likely see some time quarterbacking Ottawa's second power-play unit. He could put up between 30 and 40 points if all goes well.
Campoli was actually leading the offensive charge for Islanders' defensemen before sustaining a shoulder injury in January. He needed to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery in February as it was reported that he had been dealing with shoulder issues for years. The 2008-09 season looks to be a rough for the Isles, so we wouldn't expect more than 30 points even if he's completely healthy.
After strong rookie campaign in 2005-06, Campoli did not fare as well in his sophomore year last season. He started off the season with a groin injury, and was shuttled to and fro Bridgeport through the season. CC wound up playing in just 51 games with the Isles, recording 14 points. The Isles will give him every opportunity to succeed, but he needs to take advantage of the situation and get off to a good start.
Campoli had an impressive rookie campaign with 34 points last season. He has the tools to put even more points on the board, but the lack of explosiveness on the Islanders' roster may hinder him this year. Draft him for 35 but hope for more.
Made the AHL All Rookie team in 2004-05 after scoring 49 points in 79 games with a +15 rating. The offensive-minded blueliner still needs some seasoning, but if he keeps putting points on the board in the AHL the way he did his rookie season (and in his OHL years), the Isles will have to give him a shot at the big time sooner rather than later.
