O'Sullivan underwhelmed last season, prompting the Oilers to cut bait on his services. The Coyotes traded for him, only to buy out his contract for close to $800,000, which leaves him on the free agency list ahead of the 2010-11 season. He could be a bargain buy for teams needing a decent scorer and playmaker to round out a group of forwards, but until then, it's obviously safe to disregard him in fantasy leagues.
O'Sullivan will play his first full season in Edmonton after being acquired from the Kings. Sullivan had a combined 16 goals last season and could possibly beat those totals for a team like the Oilers who are desparate for goal scorers.
Sullivan had a breakout sophomore season after failing to meet some lofty expectations in his rookie year and should continue to build on his success. He's more of an assist guy than a pure sniper but he should be good for 20-25 goals as well, while centering the Kings' second line.
Many people thought that O'Sullivan would have big numbers in his rookie season for the Kings, but he instead ended up splitting the season between Los Angeles and Manchester of the AHL. O'Sullivan once again proved that he can pile up the numbers at the AHL level, but he struggled at times with the Kings. O'Sullivan ended up with only five goals and 19 points in 44 games with Los Angeles, but his play improved late in the year, leaving the Kings with hope that he will be a major contributor this upcoming season.
Has shown the ability to score in juniors and the minors, so look for him to get a shot of making the team out of training camp. If he doesn't then he'll play with the Manchester Monarchs this season.
The Wild's 2003 second-round pick put up impressive stats in Junior league play and could make the Wild roster at some point this season. He's a strong stick handler and has a scoring touch the Wild desperately need. He'll likely start the season with Houston of the AHL.
