The trade deadline has come and gone. Some of these rosters look different than they did a week ago. There are 11 matchups on the slate for Tuesday, and here are my daily fantasy hockey recommendations.
GOALIE
Petr Mrazek, CAR vs. LOS ($8,000): Mrazek is the ostensible number-one goalie for the Hurricanes, but he and Curtis McElhinney, who has better numbers, are both getting a fair amount of starts. I like either of them in this matchup, depending on who gets the call. The Hurricanes have only allowed 28.1 shots on net per game. Meanwhile, the Kings have only averaged 28.6 shots on goal per contest, and they are on the road for the second night of a back-to-back.
CENTER
Nicklas Backstrom, WAS vs. OTT ($6,000): Backstrom is as established in Washington as his more-famous counterpart Alex Ovechkin, but don't take the Swede for granted. He's got 15 goals and 43 assists this season, not to mention 21 points with the extra man. The Senators have a 4.37 road GAA, highest in the NHL, and all their trades has left the roster even more shallow than it was.
Eric Staal, MIN at WPG ($5,600): After a scoring drought, Staal has a three-game point streak. Though the Jets have a fine record, they've been struggling mightily defensively in February. In 11 games this month, Winnipeg has a 3.82 GAA and has allowed 36.6 shots on net per contest.
WING
Anthony Mantha, DET vs. MON ($5,400): Mantha is one of the Wings forwards we knew wasn't going anywhere at the deadline. That was already true before he tallied 10 points in his last seven games. The Canadiens are on the road for the second game of a back-to-back, and Antti Niemi will likely be in net. That would be the same Niemi who has a 3.75 GAA and .889 save percentage.
Clayton Keller, ARI vs. FLA ($5,300): Keller's numbers are down this year, in part due to an 8.2 shooting percentage, but he has some things going for him. He's started 68.4 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, highest on the Coyotes, and he has 16 points with the extra man. Perhaps this matchup will do him some good. The Panthers are on the second night of a back-to-back, and they have a 3.82 road GAA.
Jakub Vrana, WAS vs. OTT ($4,700): Vrana is enjoying something of a breakout campaign, as he has 18 goals and 20 assists through 63 games. He's enjoyed February quite a bit, as he has 10 points in his last 13 contests. As previously noted, the Senators have a 4.37 GAA in away games, and they've allowed 36.3 shots on net per game on the road as well.
DEFENSE
Shayne Gostisbehere, PHI vs. BUF ($5,200): The opportunities have still been there for Gostisbehere. He's started 56.7 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, highest on the Flyers, and he's averaged 3:37 per game in power-play time. While his point totals are a bit behind expectations, he does have 10 points in his last 12 contests. The Sabres have a 3.07 GAA, which is in the middle of the statistical rankings, but they are on the road for the second leg of a back-to-back.
Justin Faulk, CAR vs. LOS ($4,900): Faulk has scored a goal in each of his last two games, both on the power play. On the season, he's averaged 3:10 per contest with the extra man. Now he's facing a Kings team that, in addition to being on the road for the second night of a back-to-back, has the 30th-ranked penalty kill.
