SLATE PREVIEW
The bottom feeders of the Western Conference will meet the leaders when the Wild host the Oilers on Tuesday night. In fact, this matchup is just one of the major mismatches across the board, as four of the 10 games feature a road favorite.
The headliner game is a repeat of last year's playoff series between the Bruins and the Maple Leafs. The latter battled to a 4-3 overtime win Saturday night, and the winner of this contest will claim second place in the Atlantic Division behind the Sabres.
On that note, in what world do the Sabres have a league-high 15 points in the standing while the Sharks have mustered just six? We're living it, and the Sharks desperately need a win on the first matchup of their five-game road trip.
With a large slate like this, it can be tough to decipher. Read on for tips and tricks on setting your DFS lineup.
GOALIES
Marc-Andre Fleury ($9,100) finally got a break after playing nine straight games, as Oscar Dansk made his first start in nearly two years Monday. The Golden Knights suffered a brutal 6-2 loss, so they'll be happy to have Fleury back in the blue paint. He'll enjoy a contest against the 2-3-1 Blackhawks, who have averaged just 2.7 goals per game. It's unsettled who will start in the opposing crease, but Robin Lehner ($7,600) has been far better than Corey Crawford ($7,400) so far.
Tuukka Rask ($9,000) will take on the rival Maple Leafs and backup goalie Michael Hutchinson ($7,300). The former will have a good shot at a win since Hutchinson has allowed nine goals in two starts this year, and it doesn't hurt that John Tavares (finger) will be out.
The Rangers' initial hot start appears to have been a mirage, as they haven't exceeded two goals in any of the last four games. That shouldn't change anytime soon with Darcy Kuemper ($8,100) between the pipes, as he has yielded just eight scores in five games, including three straight wins against Vegas, Winnipeg and Nashville.
Over the last six games, the Kings have been shut out as many times as they've surpassed two goals -- twice each. Connor Hellebuyck ($7,700) will be stopping their shots in this game, and he's on a tear lately with a .944 save percentage over since his second start.
Jacob Markstrom ($8,200) is 4-1-0 with a .932 save percentage while Thatcher Demko ($7,600) is 2-1-0 with a .943 save percentage. Either one is a valuable start against the Red Wings, who have lost four straight and lit the lamp just five times in the process.
VALUE PLAYS/ONE-OFFS
The Rangers are playing musical chairs with their first-line right wing hoping something sticks. It's Jesper Fast's ($3,600) turn to line up with Mika Zibanejad ($7,700) and Artemi Panarin ($7,600). Fast already had three points in three games, so his ceiling lifts further following the promotion.
Carl Hagelin ($3,500) looks like a fit on the second line with four helpers and a plus-5 rating in three games, and his new center Evgeny Kuznetsov ($7,600) has eight points in 10 career games against the Flames.
Injuries have played a part, but Ilya Mikheyev ($4,200) has earned his second-line role. He has four points and 16 shots on net over the last five games, and he'll continue to line up opposite Mitch Marner ($7,900) at even strength.
Just like we predicted, James Neal ($5,800) is leading the league with nine goals. Meanwhile, the Wild lead the league in goals against average (4.00). Matchups like this are tough to conjure up as Neal's price continues to rise.
FORWARD LINE STACKS
Boston Bruins (TOTAL: $26,500)
C - Patrice Bergeron ($7,500)
W - David Pastrnak ($8,700)
W - Brad Marchand ($8,300)
These three are a cheat code. They each are on a seven-game point streak, and they've averaged a combined five points per contest in that span. The B's slipped three past the Maple Leafs when Frederik Andersen was in goal, so their dominance should improve even further against a lower-tiered Hutchinson.
Edmonton Oilers (TOTAL: $22,000)
C - Connor McDavid ($9,300)
W - Leon Draisaitl ($8,400)
W - Zack Kassian ($4,300)
Things aren't rosy in the State of Hockey, as the Wild had a players-only meeting over the past weekend following their sixth loss in seven games. They've marked a win since, but this line is among the best in the league, as the two superstars have combined for 33 points in nine outings.
Vancouver Canucks (TOTAL: $19,200)
C - Elias Pettersson ($6,500)
W - Brock Boeser ($7,100)
W - J.T. Miller ($5,600)
These three forwards combined for five multi-point games over their last six outings, and they fired 46 shots on net and recorded a plus-18 rating in that span to provide a solid floor. The Red Wings have yielded 4.3 goals per game over the last four contests, and they can't seem to get it right in the crease.
Anaheim Ducks (TOTAL: $17,300)
C - Adam Henrique ($5,200)
W - Rickard Rakell ($5,900)
W - Jakob Silfverberg ($6,400)
This line shows glimpses of the 2016-17 Ducks that made it to the Western Conference Final while Rakell and Silfverberg combined for 56 regular-season goals. They've combined for nine goals and 15 points over the last four games, and Rakell alone has 14 points in 15 career games against the Predators.
DEFENSEMEN
It's a surprise that John Carlson ($7,100) is still priced lower than Brent Burns ($7,300), as Carlson has a whopping 18 points over 10 games. The Flames have been stout against the power play with an 87.5 kill rate so far, but Carlson hasn't relied on the man advantage to the degree of past seasons, making him a top play yet again.
If you're stacking the Bruins' offense, Torey Krug ($5,900) is a solid mix-in. He has four power-play helpers over the last three games and averaged 22:02 TOI in that span.
Ryan Ellis ($5,300) has exactly two assists in four straight games. Although the Ducks have been solid defensively lately, that kind of production is tough to find in this price range.
The Panthers have allowed 10 points to opposing defensemen over the last three games. Kris Letang ($6,800) is having another productive campaign with 1.1 points and 3.8 shots on net per game. That should generate enough offense to mark the scoresheet against the Cats.
