It's a pretty light Sunday night on the NHL front. There are only three games on the slate in the evening, which limit your lineup options a bit. Nevertheless, here are my recommendations for your daily fantasy lineup.
GOALIE
Sergei Bobrovsky, CLM at VAN ($7,400): Bobrovsky is nicked up, but this presumes he is going to be able to play, which seems like the case. Over his last 12 games, he's posted a 2.14 GAA and .925 save percentage. Plus, the Blue Jackets are the only team playing Sunday night that isn't on the second leg of a back-to-back, which gives the Russian netminder a leg up on his counterparts.
CENTER
Dylan Strome, CHI vs. COL ($5,800): Since joining the Blackhawks, Strome has tallied 44 points in 50 games - including 11 points with the extra man. These teams played Saturday in Denver, but the Avalanche have to be on the road for this one, and they also own the 27th-ranked penalty kill.
Jordan Staal, CAR vs. MON ($4,300): Staal has looked pretty good since returning from injury, with 11 points and 28 shots on goal in 13 games since rejoining his teammates. Since the Canadiens started Carey Price last night, Antti Niemi will likely be in net for this one. The Finnish goalie has so far struggled with a 3.78 GAA and .887 save percentage.
WING
Artemi Panarin, CLM at VAN ($5,500): Panarin has started a whopping 76.5 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, highest on the Blue Jackets. That hasn't led to many goals of late, but he still has potted 25 goals in 71 games to go with 51 assists. Since Jacob Markstrom started Saturday, the unproven Thatcher Demko - who has played in all of six NHL games - will likely be in net.
Teuvo Teravainen, CAR vs. MON ($5,400): Thanks in part to nine points in his last seven games, Teravainen has set a new personal best with 70 points. He's also notched 21 points with the extra man. The Canadiens come in with the 17th-ranked penalty kill - which isn't bad - but they likely won't be on that level with Antti Niemi in net instead of Carey Price.
J.T. Compher, COL at CHI ($4,600): Perhaps surprisingly, Compher has averaged 3:09 per game with the extra man this season. That's only yielded nine power-play points in 58 games, but there's a good chance he'll add to that total in this one. After all, the Blackhawks possess the worst penalty kill in the league, and they are playing their second game in as many days.
DEFENSE
Zach Werenski, CLM at VAN ($5,000): Werenski has tallied 12 points over his last 15 games. That gives him 42 points in 74 outings, another impressive season for the third-year defenseman. Like basically every team, the Canucks are worse on the second day of a back-to-back and have compiled a 3.10 GAA and .893 save percentage on zero days of rest.
Samuel Girard, COL at CHI ($3,300): Girard hasn't contributed a ton of offense, but he does have 24 points and 112 shots on net this season. He's also averaged 19:57 in ice time and played 2:05 per game with the extra man. Girardi qualifies as a cheap option in a great matchup, with the Blackhawks and their league second-worst 3.63 GAA while allowing 35.0 shots on net per contest.
