DraftKings NHL: Saturday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Saturday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Roberto Luongo, FLA vs. BUF ($8,300): The basement-dwelling Sabres enter on the second leg of a back-to-back road set, and Florida still has something to play for Saturday. Luongo has won three consecutive games with a .951 save percentage to keep the Panthers in the playoff hunt, and Buffalo has generated just 9.77 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes on the road this season.

CENTER

Connor McDavid, EDM vs. VAN ($8,100): With 17 multi-point showings through 32 games dating back to Feb. 1, McDavid is worth a long look in his season finale against Vancouver. He's a matchup-proof scorer, and this salary is manageable.

David Krejci, BOS vs. OTT ($5,100): The Sens lost 4-0 to Pittsburgh on Friday and will be starting Daniel Taylor in net against Boston. Taylor hasn't played in the NHL since 2012-13, so this sets up as a favorable spot for Krejci and the Bruins. It's also a buy-low opportunity, as the Czech center has missed the scoresheet in five of his past seven outings.

WING

Patrik Laine, WPG vs. CHI ($7,400): A hat trick behind Alex Ovechkin in the goal-scoring race, expect Laine to be firing plenty of rubber on net against the Blackhawks. The Finn has registered just a single goal and a 4.5 shooting percentage through his past nine contests, so there's definitely some positive regression possible. Chicago has surrendered a healthy 3.45 goals and 12.94 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes on the road, too.

Ty Rattie, EDM vs. VAN ($5,300): After missing the scoresheet in four consecutive games, Rattie recorded a multi-point showing last time out and is now up to five goals, four assists and 24 shots through his past 11 games. Skating with McDavid is a cushy gig, and stacking the linemates helps mitigate the center's hefty salary.

Jake DeBrusk, BOS vs. OTT ($4,500): The rookie has two goals and two assists through four games since returning from injury, and his salary stands out as a nice value against the floundering Senators. Additionally, while it's a small sample size, there's been instant chemistry between DeBrusk, Krejci and Ryan Donato. The trio has combined for 7.81 goals and 17.58 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes at even strength.

DEFENSE

Victor Hedman, TB at CAR ($6,500): Tampa Bay can still secure top spot in the Atlantic Division, so expect Hedman to be full-go against Carolina. He's recorded six goals, seven assists, 28 shots and 13 blocked shots while logging 3:24 of power-play time through his past 12 contests, and the Hurricanes have struggled down the stretch with a 8-12-2 record and 3.53 goals against per 60 minutes.

Andy Welinski, ANA vs. ARI ($2,700): A low-priced flier to open up spending room, Welinski has been receiving power-play time and owns offensive upside, as he registered a respectable 10 goals and 24 assists through 51 AHL games this season. It won't take much to return value on this salary, either.
