Potter gets a spot after Aaron Baddeley was forced to withdraw. Potter has played in nine PGA Tour events this season and made the cut in just three of them. His most recent start was a couple weeks ago at the Fortinet Championship where he shot 79-80 to miss the cut.

Potter, entering his age-37 season, made only four cuts in 19 starts last season. He earned as much as he did only because two of them were top-10s. That's been the story of his career though, wild swings. More often than not though, Potter Jr. is fighting just to make cuts.
After winning nearly $2 million in 2017-18, albeit a huge chunk was thanks to his one win at Pebble Beach, Potter failed to produce results last season. He made 14-of-23 cuts with his lone top-10 coming at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. It's best to avoid Potter in all fantasy formats next season, as his inconsistency is frustrating and he was 183rd on tour in SG: Total last season.
For four days in February, Potter Jr. was the best golfer on the planet. No, he wasn't ranked No. 1 in the world, and, no, he wasn't atop the FedEx points list, but he stared down Dustin Johnson, at Pebble Beach and said, "not today my friend." Well, those might not have been his exact words, but he did kick the daylights out of everyone in the field that week. Potter Jr. proved he could play with anyone, when his game was right, but unfortunately, his game wasn't right too often after that week in February. His season was indicative of his career to this point. He's had severe highs and lows. He won as a rookie in 2012, but lost his card just two years later. This is Potter Jr., you never know what you are going to get. As such, he's obviously not a great salary cap candidate as there's just no consistency what so ever.
The 33-year-old veteran was unable to establish himself during his first three years on the PGA Tour from 2012-2014, missing 38 of 71 cuts during that span. He missed just 6 of 21 cuts on the Web.com Tour in 2017, however, while 12 top-25s and a pair of runner-ups vaulted him to 14th on the regular season money list. Potter also finished T37 at the Greenbrier Classic in July, but shouldn't pose much season-long fantasy relevance at this stage of his career.
Potter Jr. has been the typical hit or miss guy for the entirety of his two years on the PGA Tour. In his first season, Potter Jr. made just over 50% of his cuts, but he also won. Last year he made the cut exactly half the time, but failed to win. Instead he earned two well-placed top-10s. Potter Jr. is too inconsistent to risk a salary cap spot on this year. In draft leagues he's worth a look because he's won on the PGA Tour, but very late.
Heading into July last year, Potter had a one-way ticket to Q-School ready to purchase, then it all changed. Potter spent the first half of the season missing more cuts than he made and his rookie year appeared to be heading nowhere. Then a trip to the Greenbrier Classic changed everything. With his win there, Potter didn't have to worry about securing his card anymore, and that ticket to Q-School, well, he didn't need that, either. The disappointing part of Potter's season was what he did, or failed to do, outside that win. He didn't show much of anything for the majority of the season, which makes him a poor choice in salary cap leagues this season. In draft leagues, he should go in the 10th round or later.
Much like another southpaw that we all know and love, Bubba Watson, Ted Potter Jr. is also gaining access to the PGA Tour via his fine performance on the Nationwide Tour, but that's where the comparisons end. Potter ranked 89th on the Nationwide Tour in driving distance, which makes his runner-up finish on the money list even more impressive. Potter gets around the course by hitting greens and putting well, and that's a formula that translate to any level of golf.
