Englishman Parry, 13-under, has a two-shot lead over Martin Kaymer (Germany) and Alvaro Quiros (Spain) going into Sunday's closing round at the European Tour's Dunhill Links Championship. Lee Westwood shot six-under 66 at Carnoustie to move into fifth place.
ANALYSIS
Parry, Kaymer and Quiros also played Carnoustie, the most demanding of the three courses used. Players rotate over three courses, St. Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns in the first three days, then, after the cut, finish at St. Andrews. Winner's prize is 580,046 Euros - at a Euro exchange rate of US$1.40, the winner gets $812.064, one of the more generous purses on the European Tour. Westwood, who was advised yesterday he was not likely to do further damage to his calf/ankle injury, scalded Carnoustie with the low round of the day. A win or second pace finish will elevate Westwood into the number-one position in the OWGR moving out Tiger Woods, who has reigned for five years.
