2024 Fantasy Outlook
Norlander lost to Luke List in a playoff at the Sanderson Farms Championship, but that was the highlight to an otherwise tepid season. Norlander finished the season outside the cut line for full status on Tour, so he'll only have access to smaller tournaments or instances where he is granted a sponsor exemption. Read Past Outlooks
Ties for 30th at El Cardonal
November 12, 2024
Norlander closed with a two-under 70 on Sunday at the World Wide Technology Championship to finish 12-under and tied for 30th.
ANALYSIS
Norlander missed five greens in regulation during Sunday's final round despite hitting 13 of 14 fairways, and he averaged a disappointing 1.92 putts per GIR en route to four birdies. Nonetheless, he ended the week ranked T5 among the field in scrambling and T15 in driving accuracy. Norlander drops one spot to No. 122 in the FedExCup Fall standings ahead of the upcoming Butterfield Bermuda Championship where he's missed the cut in three straight appearances dating back to 2020.

2013
Norlander had an extremely unspectacular 2022 season, but he did just enough to qualify for exempt status next year. His best finishes were T31 and T30 at the Barracuda and Rocket Mortgage, respectively. Iron play has been his strength since coming on the PGA Tour, so hopefully he can round out the rest of his game to bring more consistent results.
Norlander had a very up and down season in 2020-21. He recorded three top-10s and seven top-25s, but missed 14 cuts. The Swede's ball-striking was there for him, ranking in the top 30 in SG: approach, driving accuracy and GIR percentage, but his short game and putting need a lot of work. If he can improve on that at all, Norlander does present some value.
The Swede reached a career-best 136th in the Official World Golf Ranking thanks to five straight finishes of T41 or better from the Travelers Championship through the 3M Open, but his 2019-20 season ended with a missed cut at the Northern Trust as he missed out on the BMW Championship by just six spots in the FedEx Cup standings. Norlander ranked top-15 on Tour in both driving accuracy and GIR percentage while also averaging an impressive 34 feet to the hole in proximity on his approaches. He could be a sleeper candidate moving forward, especially if he can figure out his scrambling.
Norlander fell off the PGA Tour's radar after tying for second at the 2016 RSM Classic, spending the next three seasons on the Korn Ferry Tour as he struggled to remain in a groove before winning the Wichita Open this June, propelling him to an 11th-place finish on the Regular Season Points List. The Swede also posted back-to-back top-4s at the Nashville Golf Open and KC Golf Classic earlier in the season, adding to his nine total top-25s in 21 events played. Norlander ranked top-10 on the KFT in ball striking, GIR percentage, driving accuracy and par-3 scoring.
Norlander went to Augusta State (yes, that Augusta) and played on the team that won a national championship in both 2010 and 2011. Now he gets to play on the PGA TOUR with his former teammate (Patrick Reed) and earn his way to Augusta's biggest attraction, The Masters. Norlander’s championship pedigree is even enhanced by the fact that he also went through all four stages of Q-school, so he knows how come up big when the heat is turned on. Look for Norlander to possibly get a win in 2013.
