Falls in playoff in Japan
April 25, 2023
Cockerill lost in a playoff to Lucas Herbert at the ISPS Handa Championship.
ANALYSIS
Cockerill carded a two-under 68 in the final round to get into a playoff with Herbert. Both players would par the first playoff hole and then Herbert made birdie to end it on the second extra hole. Cockerill is still seeking his first DP World Tour win, but he now moves up to 25th in the Race to Dubai standings and a career-high 250th in the OWGR. The Canadian has a lot of momentum going into the second leg of the DP World Tour's spring Asian swing next week at the Korea Championship.
