Ty'Son Williams

Heading into training camp, Williams, a 2020 undrafted free agent out of BYU, wasn't even assured a roster spot. To his credit, the 25-year-old earned his way onto the 53-man roster with a string of strong performances in camp practices and preseason games, but he was also the beneficiary of the Ravens suffering significant personnel losses in the backfield. In less than one month's time, the Ravens lost J.K. Dobbins and Justice Hill to season-ending knee and Achilles injuries, respectively, while Gus Edwards -- the team's projected starter -- suffered what looked to be a serious non-contact knee injury in a Sept. 9 practice. The extent of Edwards' injury is unknown, but the relatively unknown Williams now looks on track to open the season as the Ravens' top back, potentially serving as the team's top option both on the ground and on passing down. The rushing threat presented by quarterback Lamar Jackson has proven fruitful for backs of both high pedigrees like Dobbins and modest ones like Edwards, so Williams certainly warrants at least a speculative roster spot in every fantasy league.
