2019 Fantasy Outlook
Thompson was thrust into a starting role after Earl Thomas broke his leg in Week 4, and he was clearly ready for the job. He posted 57 tackles, three pass breakups and one interception in his first opportunity to play a key role. He will face competition from second-round pick Marquise Blair, but Thompson should have the leg up after proving his versatility last year. Even if he does come away with the job, Thompson's fantasy prospects are minimal.

Exploring trade elsewhere
SSeattle Seahawks
March 18, 2020
The Seahawks granted Thompson permission to seek a trade Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The 25-year-old ended the 2019 season on injured reserve due to a shoulder injury, logging 19 tackles (nine solo), two interceptions and two pass breakups before being shut down. If he were to remain with Seattle in 2020, Thompson could be hard pressed finding time in a safety group that also includes Bradley McDougald, Delano Hill, Quandre Diggs and Marquise Blair (ankle), so it's not too surprising the Seahawks are making him available for trade. Thompson could likely be had for a late-round pick.
