Conner was waived by the Cowboys on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Conner was unable to make the Cowboys' 53-man roster ahead of the 2024 season after signing a reserve/future contract with Dallas back in January. The 24-year-old running back spent the entire 2023 campaign on the Jaguars' practice squad, and he could be headed toward a similar fate if he is able to catch on with another squad for this season.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2022
Conner was selected during the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Jaguars and appeared in just eight games during his rookie campaign. In the process, he had 12 carries for 41 yards and a touchdown while playing only 36 offensive snaps. JaMycal Hasty operated as Travis Etienne's backup at the close of last season, leaving Conner to work in mop-up duty. Jacksonville added Tank Bigsby during the third round of this year's draft, which is likely to leave Conner buried on the depth chart with Etienne and Hasty also back.
Conner was part of a deep backfield committee at Ole Miss and finished his final collegiate season with 130 carries for 647 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also caught 14 passes for 82 yards, which is solid given that he primarily worked as a short-yardage back. He was selected in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft by Jacksonville and will compete with Ryquell Armstead for a depth role in the backfield. Travis Etienne and James Robinson are entrenched as the team's top tailbacks, though it's unclear if Robinson will be at full strength before Week 1, which could provide some opportunities for Conner early on.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Big summer coming?
RBJacksonville Jaguars
June 22, 2022
Conner could pick up plenty of valuable reps in training camp and preseason with James Robinson still recovering from last season's Achilles tear, John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports.
ANALYSIS
The rookie fifth-round pick out of Ole Miss currently slots in as the No. 3 running back on the depth chart with Robinson sidelined, and both Travis Etienne and Ryquell Armstead figure to remain ahead of him in the pecking order for the time being. However, Reid notes Conner is an inside power runner in the mold of Robinson, which could afford him some opportunities in formations with the speedy and elusive Etienne, who appears to be all the way back from the Lisfranc injury that wiped out his 2021 campaign.
