Knee
July 18, 2024
The Saints placed Ramczyk (knee) on reserve/PUP Thursday, and he will miss the entirety of the 2024 season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Being a vested veteran, Ramczyk's placement on reserve/PUP before roster cutdowns later this summer means he will not be eligible to be activated at any point during the 2024 campaign. This isn't a complete surprise, however, as Ramczyk's availability for this season was already in question way early in the offseason. It's still a huge loss for a New Orleans offensive line that lost 12-game starter Andrus Peat to the Raiders in free agency and 15-game starter James Hurst to retirement. The Saints did use their first-round pick on tackle Taliese Fuaga and did sign veteran backup Olisaemeka Udoh, but 2022 first-rounder Trevor Penning needs to step up and take hold of a starting job in his third season after failing to do so the last two years.

NFL Mock Draft: 2024 First-Round Mock
The NFL Draft gets underway tonight and John McKechnie projects how things will unfold with his first-round NFL mock. After Caleb Williams goes 1st to the Bears, chaos could ensue.
Past Fantasy Outlooks

2021
Ramczyk was limited to 10 games in 2021 and underwent a minor knee procedure in February of 2022. He returned to play all but one game last season, and the 2019 All-Pro will reprise a starting role at right tackle heading into his age-29 season.
Ramczyk has been a key piece of the Saints' offensive line for his first five years in New Orleans. The veteran right tackle will look to bounce back from what was a frustrating 2021 campaign in which he battled knee issues for much of the season while playing in just 10 games.
Currently the league's highest-paid right tackle thanks to his offseason contract extension, Ramczyk has earned All-Pro honors in three straight seasons and should remain a fixture on the offensive line.

NFL future uncertain
OTNew Orleans Saints
January 2, 2024
Ramczyk's ongoing knee issues have put his NFL future in question, Katherine Terrell of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The 29-year-old offensive tackle has a cartilage defect in his left knee that leaves him with limited surgical options to repair an issue that has been affecting him all season. "I don't know," Ramczyk said last week about a possible fix. "I think those are the discussions we are going to have, that need to be had, and we'll go from there. ... I'll talk with surgeons, doctors, get as much as information as I can and then just make the best decision." Ramczyk has played only 12 games this season and was placed on injured reserve over the weekend, leaving his availability for a potential playoff run by the Saints in doubt.
