Ryan Broyles

Unlike in 2012, at least Broyles didn't tease a fantasy breakout last season before suffering yet another serious leg injury that ended his season. Golden Tate is now in Detroit to provide a more reliable no. 2 receiver behind Calvin Johnson, so even if Broyles manages to stay healthy for once and still has some tread on his tires despite blowing out both ACLs and tearing an Achilles tendon, his path to significant targets is a lot narrower.

It's a shame Broyles tore his right ACL one week after going off for 126 yards in Week 12 as it had looked for a moment like the Lions had finally found a complement to Calvin Johnson. It wasn't Broyles' first ACL tear, either – he had actually missed the first few weeks of 2012 after tearing the left one during his senior year at college. At 5-10, 192, Broyles isn't big, but he's got decent speed, excellent quickness and good route-running skills. If and when he does return at 100 percent, he's easily the second-best wideout on the team’s roster, and should eventually supplant Nate Burleson, who remains listed as a starter on the Lions' posted depth chart.

It's clear Broyles is an immense talent after an illustrious career at Oklahoma, but a tear of his ACL in November makes his rookie year a serious question mark. He'll open training camp on the PUP list, so expecting an immediate contribution from him would be a serious stretch. Once healthy, however, it's not unreasonable to predict he could make a run at the Lions' No. 2 receiver job.
