Hall was released by the Jaguars on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Hall's tenure in Jacksonville will end just three months after he signed a contract with the team in May. The 29-year-old previously spent short stints with Detroit, Cleveland and Atlanta over the past three seasons, hauling in 26 of his 44 targets for 573 yards and three touchdowns over 23 games during this span. Hall will now look for a new squad where he can serve as a big-play threat this regular season.

Hall brings some added speed to New England's wideout group after averaging 17.1 yards per catch in his 11 games with the Lions last season. He finished the year with a combined 18 catches for 302 yards and two touchdowns in his 11 games with the Lions and one additional game with the Browns. With the Patriots he'll look to secure a roster spot as a depth wideout/returner.
Beginning his career with two underwhelming seasons in Atlanta threw Hall under the radar, but the speedy wideout instantly added a new dimension to the offense upon his arrival in Detroit last year. Not only did Hall's eye-popping average of 37.3 yards per catch cleanly sum up the explosive element he provided, but he was also, somehow, on pace for 464 yards over a full 16 games despite seeing just 11 passes come his way over nine previous appearances. He will continue to be buried on the depth chart in 2020, but Hall should see enough snaps every week to see a bomb or two come his way. If everything comes together just right in a high-scoring game, he might even win someone a GPP tournament.
Hall signed on with Atlanta last September, proceeding to spend the first month of the 2017 season on the Falcons practice squad before being activated for a Week 6 tilt against the Dolphins. He composed his most noteworthy NFL moment to date in the first quarter of that game, hauling in a 40-yard touchdown pass from Matt Ryan in what would be an eventual 20-17 defeat. Buried deep on the depth chart at wide receiver, Hall is a long shot to provide steady fantasy production in 2018, but he will be in the mix as an option at kick returner along with Justin Hardy, Calvin Ridley and Reggie Davis.

Major role expansion on tap
WRCleveland Browns
December 26, 2020
Hall is set to function as the Browns' No. 1 receiver in Sunday's game against the Jets with Cleveland's top four wideouts on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
A positive COVID-19 test on the Browns led to a four-hour delay in the team's flight to New York on Saturday and ultimately resulted in Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, Donvan Peoples-Jones and KhaDarel Hodge all remaining in Cleveland after being deemed close contacts to the infected individual. Those developments leave Hall, who has 44 games of NFL experience over four seasons with the Falcons and Lions, as Baker Mayfield's de facto top wideout target against New York. The 27-year-old has the speed to serve as a downfield threat -- 14 of his 36 career receptions have gone for over 20 yards, after all -- but with only practice-squad callups Derrick Willies and Ja'Marcus Bradley rounding out the top three at the position, there could be plenty of defensive attention on Hall in Sunday's contest.
