Useful cog in Dallas defense
SDallas Cowboys
January 30, 2024
Kearse recorded 72 tackles (48 solo) including 1.5 sacks while adding one interception on four passes defended over 16 regular-season games in 2023.
ANALYSIS
The 29-year-old has become a dependable option on the back end in defensive coordinator Dan Quinn's scheme, with the three highest tackle totals of his career coming during his three seasons with Dallas. Kearse hasn't seen enough snaps the last couple campaigns to be a true IDP asset, though, and the potential departure of Quinn could leave his role in limbo heading into 2024.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
The veteran safety's second season with Dallas wasn't quite as productive as his first, as Donovan Wilson emerged as the lead on the back end, but Kearse still delivered 77 tackles, two sacks and one interception in 14 contests in Dan Quinn's aggressive defense. Heading into the final year of his current contract, Kearse again should handle a significant snap share in a rotation with Wilson and Malik Hooker and deliver good per-game tackling, providing him with a strong IDP floor.
After managing 119 tackles in 42 games over the prior three seasons while filling a depth role for the Vikings and Lions, Kearse nearly matched that total in 16 games for the Cowboys after seizing a starting job early in the year and never letting it go. The 28-year-old was more steady than explosive, but defensive coordinator Dan Quinn's scheme creates IDP value for its safeties, and Kearse was a beneficiary in 2021. After signing a two-year deal to stay in Dallas, Kearse will look to repeat his breakout.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Wants to move on
SMinnesota Vikings
March 14, 2020
Kearse (toe), a pending unrestricted free agent, remarked Friday on his personal Twitter account that he's not interested in returning to the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old stuck around for four seasons in Minnesota as a 2016 seventh-round pick, and he arguably put together his best all-around statistical season in his 2019 contract year. Kearse finished the campaign with his first career interception and six defensed passes while allowing a stingy 47.4 percent completion rate and 4.0 YPA on throws for which he was the primary defender. Kearse played a career-high 275 snaps from scrimmage last season, but he's yet to be a full-time starter in any one campaign; therefore, it remains to be seen what level of interest he'll receive in an open market he seems destined to hit.
