The Packers waived Eason on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Eason was picked up by the Packers less than two weeks ago, but it now appears that the team has decided to part ways with the Washington product. With Eason off the roster, Green Bay's No. 2 quarterback spot is expected to be claimed by either Sean Clifford or Michael Pratt.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2020
The Colts took Eason in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, 122nd overall, and he opened this year's training camp as the team's No. 2 quarterback behind Carson Wentz. Though Eason didn't see any action as a rookie, it now looks like he could end up seeing starting duty early on this season, given that a foot procedure will sideline Wentz for a span of time that threatens his Week 1 status, at a minimum. In that context, Eason will handle the team's No. 1 QB reps until Wentz returns. The 6-6, 231-pounder has a strong arm, and it now looks like the Washington product is about to see some unexpected high-profile, on-the-job training out of the gate this season.
Philip Rivers is slated to start at QB for the Colts in 2020, with Jacoby Brissett also under contract, but Eason, who the team took in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, 122nd overall, gives Indy a young QB to groom for the future. Listed at 6-6 and 227 pounds and blessed with perhaps the strongest arm in this year's draft, Eason has the tools to develop into an NFL starter, but in order to do that he'll need to work on his ability to progress through his reads and make throws under pressure. He has time to refine his game, though, as the Colts will be in no rush to hand Eason regular-season snaps as he learns the ropes in his first pro season.

Gets look from Green Bay
QBFree Agent
July 26, 2023
Eason worked out for the Packers on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
If Eason lands in Green Bay, he would have a realistic shot at landing the backup job there considering the Packers' top options behind Jordan Love under center are Sean Clifford and Danny Etling. Eason has appeared in two NFL games over the past two seasons, completing five of 10 passes for 84 yards with two interceptions.
