After converting from being a defensive back, Igwebuike beat the odds in 2021 to earn a spot on the active roster. However, he was exclusively used on special teams for the first half of the year, and when injuries hit the Lions backfield, it was Craig Reynolds who handled the load at running back. With Jermar Jefferson and Justin Jackson in the fold to compete for the No. 3 gig behind D'Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams, Igwebuike is far from a lock to make the roster again in 2022.
