Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

Spending some of his time as the slot corner, Rodgers-Cromartie had another strong season with 21 passes defensed and six interceptions. Last year's first-rounder, Eli Apple, will likely "start" opposite Janoris Jenkins, but Rodgers-Cromartie will be on the field for the vast majority of the team's defensive snaps and play a prominent role. Like Jenkins, however, Rodgers-Cromartie isn't a huge source of tackles.

Probably the team's best cover corner despite the expensive signing of Janoris Jenkins, Rodgers-Cromartie will reprise his role on the left side of the defensive backfield. He's good for a few picks per year and last season took one to the house.

Starting left corner, should see a big snap count now that he's healthy again. Decent source of tackles and passes defensed from the defensive backfield.

Starting corner, opposite Prince Amukamara, giving the Giants one of the better starting tandems in the league.

Rodgers-Cromartie will try to resurrect his career in Denver after two disappointing seasons in Philadelphia. He should get plenty of passes thrown his way, as opposing quarterbacks tend to be hesitant to throw at Champ Bailey.

With Asante Samuel out of town, DRC will start at corner opposite Nnamdi Asomugha. He'll be worth watching as an IDP if he regains his ballhawking tendencies.

If Asante Samuel doesn't get traded, Rodgers-Cromartie will serve as Philadelphia's third corner.

His attention wanes at times, and he doesn't like to hit, perhaps due to his slight frame. Rodgers-Cromartie earned a Pro Bowl roster spot this season, and he has 10 interceptions in 32 NFL regular-season games, but he still has plenty of room for improvement. It's important to remember that he's only 23 years old, and he played his college ball at unheralded Tennessee State. It's good news that his knee injury isn't expected to be a substantial setback, since he will benefit from participating in Arizona's offseason workout program. He has shown a lot of potential in his first two NFL seasons, and his ceiling remains very high.

The Cardinals didn’t put too much pressure on Rodgers-Cromartie last season, even though he was the team’s 2008 first-round draft pick. DRC exceeded expectations by winning a starting role in late September and racking up four interceptions to go with 42 tackles in 16 regular-season games (11 starts), plus two more picks in the playoffs. He has a clear starting role this season and Arizona quarterback Kurt Warner -- a legitimate Hall of Fame candidate -- has high praise for DRC’s speed and potential. Warner is lucky that he only has to face DRC during practice. The 23-year-old improved markedly as his rookie season wore on and even better things could be in store this season and beyond.

The first-round pick for the Cardinals will likely make an impact this season, but it might take a few weeks for him to adjust to the rigors of playing in the NFL. Rodgers-Cromartie is talented, but lacks the experience after playing at Tennessee State in college. The Cardinals will bring him along slowly, but he should eventually earn playing time and provide some IDP value.
