July 22, 2014
Moore was released by the Buccaneers on Tuesday, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Signed by the Buccaneers in February due to his relationship with new head coach Lovie Smith from their days with the Bears, Moore was perceived as the frontrunner for nickel duties heading into training camp. However, after spending most of the 2013 season out of the NFL, Moore evidently didn't impress in offseason workouts, prompting the Buccaneers to look elsewhere for depth at defensive back. With Moore out of the picture, Leonard Johnson or Mike Jenkins look like the top candidates to man the nickel spot this season in Tampa Bay.

Will compete for a depth DB spot in 2014.
Will provide depth to the Panthers' secondary.
Moore has become a nice asset for the Bears on defense with 40 plus tackles and four interceptions in each of the past two seasons. Barring injury, he shouldn't have much trouble matching those stats again in 2012.
Moore was able to show a Charles Tillman like knack for the ball in 2010, and could challenge for more than just nickel back duties in 2011. He is the guy to keep an eye on if you are looking for a breakout candidate in the Bears' secondary.
The 2009 fourth-round draft pick will serve as a backup cornerback this season but will see most of his action on special teams.
Moore, selected by the Bears in the fourth round of last April's draft, will likely be a depth guy in the secondary and should see time on special teams.
