Williams was waived by the Packers on Tuesday, Matt Lombardo of Heavy On Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Williams failed to make the team after he turned 11 carries into 60 yards this preseason. Additionally, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports that the running back isn't expected to return to Green Bay's practice squad, so he'll be looking for a new team.

2019
Williams is entering his third season with the Packers, and although the team is a bit thin at his position, he will need to beat out Kylin Hill and/or Patrick Taylor to come away with a roster spot.
Williams, selected in the sixth round in 2019, appeared in four games in his rookie season. He will likely have to show some progress to make the cut in his second year, as the Packers' top two running backs remain on the roster and the Packers drafted running back AJ Dillon and brought back another in Tyler Ervin.
The Packers selected Williams in the sixth round of April's draft, and he is the favorite to open the season as the team's third running back behind Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams. The rookie Williams was the primary running back for just one season at Notre Dame, but he averaged an impressive 6.4 yards per carry over 257 collegiate attempts. Off-the-field issues and a brief track record pushed Williams down draft boards, but his downhill running style makes him an intriguing prospect in new coach Matt LaFleur's offense.

ANALYSIS
Williams spent the first two seasons of his career with Green Bay before bouncing between a number of teams' practice squads in 2021.
