Harris was a full participant at Thursday's practice, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 30-year-old missed the Cardinals' last two games of the regular season while dealing with a shoulder issue, but he returned to practice Thursday ahead of the team's wild-card matchup with the Rams on Monday. Harris played in 14 games this year, catching three passes for 10 yards while operating as a secondary option at tight end.

Harris enters his seventh NFL season with five of those campaigns being spent in a Chiefs uniform, where he averaged 16 receptions, 179 yards and two TDs during the 2016-2018 seasons. He followed that up by posting 15-149-3 with the Browns, and now he'll slot in at third on the Bears' depth chart behind Jimmy Graham and Cole Kmet. Based on his career to date, he'll likely be little more than a TD-dependent streaming option should he have to replace Graham or Kmet in the lineup.
Harris signed with the Browns as a free agent this offseason, and he figures to be the primary backup to David Njoku. Harris, who is mostly known for his blocking skills, is a five-year veteran with 57 receptions in his career. The 27-year-old scored a career-high three touchdowns in 2018, and if he works his way into meaningful snaps, could end up a second-tier red-zone target for Baker Mayfield.
The most established tight end option on the roster behind Travis Kelce, Harris enters his contract year looking to build off a career-best season in 2017, in which he notched 18 catches and 224 receiving yards while matching the one TD he recorded in each of the two prior seasons. Still, the Chiefs don't appear content to hand him the job. A season ago, the club brought in Gavin Escobar to challenge him during training camp, but the Chiefs ultimately let Escobar walk following training camp. This time around, Jace Amaro and Tim Wright will receive their respective chances at a spot. Harris holds the upper hand for a 53-man roster spot and is the only one of the three familiar with Andy Reid's playbook entering camp, but his season debut will be delayed one game due to a violation of the league's substance abuse policy.
Harris has hung around with the Chiefs in each of the last three seasons, making his biggest impact in 2016 with 17 catches on 31 targets for 123 yards and a touchdown. However, the team's offseason addition of Gavin Escobar increases the competition level for reps and an offseason arrest clouds his availability early in the season. Either way, he shouldn't be expected to make a large impact barring an injury to starter Travis Kelce.
Despite seeing the field in all 16 games last season, Harris snagged just seven passes on 12 targets for 74 yards and a touchdown. He will likely compete with James O'Shaughnessy once again for snaps in 2016, but the third-year tight end is unlikely to see a meaningful amount of action unless Travis Kelce gets injured for an extended period.
Heading into the 2014 season, Harris found himself third on the Chiefs’ tight end depth chart behind Anthony Fasano and Travis Kelce. With the employment of multiple tight end sets, however, he stood just one injury away from seeing a fair amount of snaps. Unfortunately, it was he who suffered a season-ending foot fracture prior to Week 10. Following the season, the Chiefs decided against renewing Fasano’s contract, leaving Kelce atop the depth chart and Harris likely second-in-command. Given the Chiefs’ propensity to use multiple tight ends, the second-year tight end could be in line for an increased workload in 2015, but he’ll need to beat out the likes of Richard Gordon and fifth-round pick James O’Shaughnessy to ensure snaps.
A former basketball player, the 6-foot-7 tight end will enter camp competing for a spot on the Chiefs’ roster, on heels of a strong showing in OTAs and minicamp.
