2019 Fantasy Outlook
Shepherd did not hear his name called on draft day this April, but that's looking like a mistake, as he has shined in training camp, and is improving his odds of earning a roster spot seemingly on a weekly basis. Shepherd's role on offense would likely be minimal should he make the cut, but if he gets the nod over fellow wideout Trevor Davis, he would be the favorite to open the season as the Packers' top return man.

Making splash at XFL level
Shepherd, who last recorded an NFL regular-season reception in 2020 with the Packers, is standing out this spring for the XFL's St. Louis Battlehawks.
ANALYSIS
The North Dakota State alum posted six receptions for 47 yards on 10 targets for Green Bay over two seasons after latching on as an undrafted free agent in 2019. Shepherd turned in a solid 27-323-1 line with the USFL's New Jersey Generals last spring, and his 34 receptions, 340 yards and four touchdowns -- as well as his 629 kickoff return yards -- through seven games with the Battlehawks could have him on the path to earning a look with an NFL team this summer.
