2024 Fantasy Outlook
The Eagles selected DeJean out of Iowa in the second round (40th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft. He was considered a potential first-round talent, but a fractured fibula in November which cut short his final college season and caused him to skip the combine may have led to him slipping down the board. He was cleared for all football activities in early April and appears primed for a versatile role in Philadelphia's secondary, just like he had at Iowa, where he ended his college career with seven interceptions in 31 games. Impresses in Week 17
DeJean recorded six total tackles (four solo) in Sunday's 41-7 win over the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
DeJean tied Jalyx Hunt for the third-most tackles on Philadelphia's defense Sunday, trailing the inside-linebacker tandem of Oren Burks (eight tackles) and Zack Baun (seven tackles). The rookie corner from Iowa tied his career high in tackles in a single game in Week 17, having now recorded 51 total tackles this season. DeJean has also accumulated six passes defended and one forced fumble over 16 appearances, and he's expected to remain a problem for opposing wide receivers in the Week 18 matchup against the Giants.

Eagles aggressively pursue Friday
The Eagles traded three picks to move up to the 40th overall selection during the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft and pick DeJean, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
DeJean, who was a standout at Iowa and garnered both first-team All-American and Big Ten Defensive Back of the Year honors in 2023, had widely been projected as a first-round pick. However, with cornerback a position of need for Philadelphia and DeJean still on the board as the second round began Friday night, the Eagles opted to trade both of their second-round picks and a fifth-rounder to the division-rival Commanders, receiving the 40th and 78th overall selections and using the first of those to secure DeJean's services.
