2024 Fantasy Outlook
There was some buzz last offseason about Turner, a 2022 fifth-round pick, potentially unseating Logan Thomas as Washington's top pass catcher at tight end. It never happened, and while Thomas is now gone, the Commanders brought in Zach Ertz and second-round pick Ben Sinnott this offseason. Turner is left to compete for a back-end roster spot, likely needing to make an impression on special teams in order to stick around. Read Past Outlooks

Turner signed with the Commanders' practice squad Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Since being selected by Washington in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Turner has played in 22 regular-season games and accrued 13 catches (on 24 targets) for 143 yards over that span. He was unable to crack the Commanders' 53-man roster for the upcoming season, but Turner is a candidate to be elevated to the active roster should tight ends Zach Ertz, Ben Sinnott, John Bates or Colson Yankoff miss time.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
Turner was a fifth-round pick in 2022 and spent most of his rookie season behind Logan Thomas apart from a couple games Thomas missed early in the season. It looks like the same plan for Washington at tight end this year, though Turner showed some chemistry with QB Sam Howell in the preseason while Thomas dealt with a minor injury. Turner could see four or five targets per game if Thomas ends up missing time during the regular season.
Turner had 677 yards and 10 touchdowns last season at Nevada, but a 4.76 40-yard dash and 27-inch vertical show below-average athleticism. Washington took him in the fifth round, bringing in competition for 2021 fourth-round pick John Bates behind starter Logan Thomas, who is rehabbing an ACL tear.
