Christian Blake

Blake was leaned on for substantial snaps late in the season last year, as he was on the field for at least 40 percent of the offensive plays over five of the Falcons' six final contests. The enhanced playing time did not exactly bear out prolific fantasy production, however, as Blake managed to put up just eight catches for 73 yards across that six-game span. Blake showed enough during an abbreviated offseason program to retain his spot on the Falcons' depth chart, though he's currently slotted in as the No. 5 option at wide receiver, behind Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, Russell Gage and Olamide Zaccheaus.

Head coach Dan Quinn admitted in early August that Blake would be a difficult player to make a decision on, hinting at his ability to stand out amongst a crowded position group to that point in camp. He started strong with eight receptions for 65 yards through the Falcons' first two preseason outings, but was largely held in check with just two catches for 17 yards the rest of the way. Blake did not end up on the Falcons' 53-man roster to begin 2019 but was the immediately stashed on the practice squad -- providing the team with an opportunity to consider his prospects moving forward.
