Lands on practice squad
WRFree Agent
August 30, 2023
Johnson joined the Seahawks' practice squad Wednesday, John Boyle of the team's official website reports.
ANALYSIS
Johnson failed to earn a spot on the Seahawks' 53-man roster as depth receiver and special teams contributor, but he will stick around in Seattle nonetheless. He had a scary incident in the team's first preseason game that resulted in him being stretchered off the field and ultimately receiving a concussion diagnosis. Fortunately, he was eventually able to return and will now look to impress at practice.

WRFree Agent

The Seahawks are slated to sign Johnson as an undrafted free agent, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Seattle is bringing in two of the bigger names to not hear their names called during the 2021 NFL Draft, with Tamorrion Terry being the other. Both wide receivers will aim to bolster a receiving corps that's top-heavy behind D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. Johnson himself put up massive numbers in his final two seasons at South Dakota State, combining for 139 catches, 2,554 yards and 25 touchdowns in 26 games between 2018 and 2019.
