LaFell (Achilles) indicated that he intends to play in 2019, Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. "I'm definitely coming back," LaFell said in December. "I'm leaving on my own terms. I'm not leaving like this. I'll be back. I'll definitely be back."
ANALYSIS
LaFell ruptured the Achilles tendon in his left leg last November and will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the league year. While the 32-year-old likely won't be healthy again until June or July given the 6-to-9-month recovery timeline that typically accompanies Achilles injuries, LaFell seems to have a decent shot of being ready to go by the time training camps begin.

The Legend of LaFell will tell the tale of an aging receiver hired on the (relative) cheap to be the No. 2 receiver for an organization that let two other wideouts leave for greener pastures the year before, only to provide diminishing returns. LaFell saw significant declines in year 2 with the Bengals in catches (from 64 to 52), receiving yards (862 to 548), touchdowns (6 to 3), yards per reception (13.5 to 10.5) and yards per target (8.1 to 6.2). He's back for another sequel – but his role might be diminished if either Tyler Boyd or John Ross substantially improves.
