Joins up with Eagles

Philadelphia signed Harris to its practice squad Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
With C.J. Gardner-Johnson (abdomen) on the injured reserve list, the Eagles saw fit to bring the veteran Harris on board to potentially provide some depth at safety during the home stretch of the season. And with Reed Blankenship (knee) also questionable for Sunday's game at Chicago, Philadelphia could opt to elevate Harris sooner rather than later.

After spending the first six seasons of his career in Minnesota, Harris joined the Eagles in 2021 and logged 72 tackles (36 solo), an interception and three pass defenses over the course of 14 appearances. The 30-year-old, was re-signed to a one year deal in March and is thus set to reprise his role as a starting safety for Philadelphia alongside either Marcus Epps or Jaquiski Tartt.
Last season, Harris put up 104 tackles, utterly destroying his previous career mark of 60. Now, he heads to Philadelphia as the team's most experienced and healthy safety with Jalen Mills gone and Rodney McLeod rehabbing from ACL surgery. As such, Harris should have ample opportunity to record some big plays after defending just seven passes and recording zero interceptions in 2020.
Harris was scheduled to hit free agency after the 2019 season, but the Vikings utilized the franchise tag to keep him around for at least one more year. The former UDFA would have been the top safety on the market after tying for the league lead with six interceptions in 14 games last season, while also totaling 60 tackles (35 solo) and 11 passes defensed. Harris and Harrison Smith will enter 2020 as arguably the top tandem of starting safeties in the NFL.
The undrafted free agent from Virginia will try to win a reserve defensive back role.

Possible reunion with Philly
SFree Agent
December 12, 2022
Harris visited with the Eagles on Monday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The veteran safety was waived by Denver last week after playing exclusively on special teams over three games. Harris spent the 2021 season with Philadelphia and played nearly 800 snaps on defense while recording 72 tackles over 14 games, so he's very familiar with the team's scheme. The Eagles are getting a little short-handed at safety with C.J. Gardner-Johnson on injured reserve due to a lacerated kidney and Reed Blankenship picking up a knee injury Sunday, making a reunion with Harris more likely.
