Let go by Atlanta
The Falcons released Bailey on Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The move frees up $4.5 million in salary cap space for the Falcons. In his two seasons with the team, Bailey tallied 41 tackles (22 solo) and 2.5 sacks through his 31 games. The 31-year-old, who entered the NFL in 2011 after being made a third-round draft pick by Kansas City, should catch on elsewhere as a rotational defensive lineman.

Bailey stepped into a prominent role during his debut campaign with the Falcons, suiting up for 15 games and starting five times for Atlanta's 22nd-ranked scoring defense. The 31-year-old did not make a huge statistical impact during those appearances, however, collecting just one sack and two QB hits. The Falcons were able to make one or two notable additions elsewhere to the front seven over the offseason, but expect Bailey to continue being heavily utilized in the defensive end rotation during 2020.
