Montgomery endured a very rocky rookie season last year. Despite flashing first-round talent during his three college seasons at LSU, Montgomery fell to the draft's third round amid character concerns. Then, following an inactive status for the first seven games of his NFL career, Montgomery was released by the Texans for a violation of team policy. He later signed with the Raiders, only to be released three days later with an injury settlement. Most recently, the athletically gifted defensive end signed with the Bengals this offseason; however, he did not make the team's initial 53-man roster.
