Rest-of-Season Projections
Shown door in Dallas
The Cowboys released Poe on Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Poe started every game for the Cowboys this season and recorded eight tackles in the process. However, the Cowboys were apparently looking for a trade partner this week and after an unsuccessful search, they cut Poe loose. Poe could draw interest on the open market for teams looking for veteran depth on the interior defensive line.

The veteran defensive tackle signed a two-year deal with Dallas in the offseason after finishing up his second campaign in Carolina. Poe can still consistently generate a push up the middle, recording four sacks in only 11 games last year, but he hasn't produced more than 39 tackles in a season since 2014. His IDP utility is limited, but he'll add experience and a physical presence to the Cowboys' defensive line.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Taking a month off
Poe intends to take around a month to work on conditioning before signing with a new team, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Poe, who was released by the Cowboys on Wednesday, evidently still doesn't consider himself to be fully back in football shape due to a 2019 injury. The veteran defensive lineman will be a candidate to join a team down the stretch, perhaps for an organization looking to bolster depth ahead of a playoff push, but his days of IDP relevancy may be over.
