Raji's intention to retire comes as he hit the free agent market following his seventh season in Green Bay. Drafted ninth overall in 2009, Raji was instrumental on the Packers' Super Bowl-winning team in 2010, registering a career-best 39 tackles and 6.5 sacks. Since then, Raji's performance level steeply declined, as evidenced by just 3.5 total sacks, and he also missed the entire 2014 campaign due to a preseason biceps tear. At 29 years old, it appears Raji is ready to call time on his NFL career, taking his name out of consideration from potential suitors.

Raji returns to the field after missing the entire 2014 season with a torn biceps. The veteran defensive tackle is essential to the Packers run defense, which finished 23rd in the league last season. Raji’s ability to clog up the middle could free up linebackers to cause more havoc in the pocket.

Raji signed a one-year deal to remain with the Packers this offseason. He will be the team's top nose tackle but figures to be subbed out often on passing downs, limiting his IDP value.

Raji will start on the defensive line in the Packers' 3-4 defensive scheme.

Raji's 2011 numbers fell from the numbers he put up in 2010 as the Packers' defense struggled as a unit. If they want to turn it around, Raji will play a key role wreaking havoc in the middle. But while he's an important part of the Packers' defense, his role is not one that will generate the statistics of other positions.

Raji is unlikely to make a big statistical impact as the nose tackle in Green Bay’s 3-4, but he also figures to be more productive than most 3-4 noses due to his standout talent. The former ninth overall pick was disruptive in his second season last year, finishing with an impressive total of 6.5 sacks. If he can hold onto that pass-rushing production while improving his tackle totals a bit (he finished last year with just 39), he should be a decent late-round target in deep leagues.

The 2009 first round pick was plagued by injuries to start the season, but showed flashes of why he was a top-10 pick later in the year. He'll be part of the defensive line rotation in 2010.
