Brian Orakpo

Orakpo’s first year with the Titans was going swimmingly until a season-ending injury to fellow outside linebacker Derrick Morgan allowed defenses to key on him. The longtime Redskins pass-rusher still finished with seven sacks despite adding zero in the last six weeks after Morgan went down, but increased depth at the position should allow Orakpo to do his thing for a full campaign this time around. Injuries have been the main limiting factor on his production in years past, but things are looking up on that front since the 30-year-old played in every 2015 game after missing 24 of a possible 48 in the previous three seasons. Double-digit sacks are a realistic possibility if he can stay on the field.

Orakpo signed with the Titans coming off an injury-plagued 2014 campaign that saw him record just 0.5 sacks in seven appearances with the Redskins, but the three-time Pro Bowl linebacker could be in for a rebound season with star defensive lineman Jurell Casey around to draw the offensive line's attention. Orakpo had 10 sacks and 60 tackles in 2013, and he should approach that level of production if healthy in his first year away from Washington.

Orakpo reached double digit sacks in 2013 for the first time since his rookie season. He recorded ten sacks and 60 tackles. He received the franchise tag instead of a long term deal during the offseason. When healthy he averages just under ten sacks a season. The team drafted Trent Murphy in the second round in 2014 which might signal this is Orakpo's last season as a Redskin.

Orakpo is returning from shoulder surgery that cost him all of 2012. It was the same injury that ended his 2011 season in Week 17. He is expected to be healthy to start the year. If he can return to form expect around 50 tackles, 10 sacks, and a few forced fumbles.

Orakpo had a solid yet unspectacular 2011. He recorded 9 sacks for the third year in a row, a career high 60 tackles, and three forced fumbles. He was often double teamed and struggled at times especially to make an impact (half his sacks came in two games). He suffered a torn pectoral in the final game of 2011 but is 100 percent going into training camp. Expect Orakpo to have more breathing room with the continued maturation of Ryan Kerrigan. Also the team has another year under it's belt in the 3-4 defense.

Orakpo posted an impressive 11 sacks and 50 tackles as a rookie, splitting time between defensive end and outside linebacker. Orkapo was typically used at DE on passing downs, but this season might play OLB full time. If that’s the case, his IDP ranking will suffer greatly because he won’t generate enough tackles to hang with the top linebackers. His sacks likely will take a hit too, but as the OLB in Washington’s new 3-4 defense, he could still be used as an edge rusher (if Andre Carter doesn’t man that spot). Orakpo has significant fantasy upside if he’s deployed as a defensive end. Just double-check his eligibility in your league before drafting.

First round draft pick in 2009. He is expected to play outside linebacker part time and defensive end on passing downs. He has the size, strength and speed to play both positions. He has a lot to learn and Defensive Coach Greg Blache does not like to start rookies. Expect Orakpo to be eased into his role.
