Coffman was released by the Colts on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Coffman was signed by the Colts exactly two weeks ago but now is once again out of a job with the team signing Frankie Williams. Coffman failed to record a statistic in his two games with the Colts as he played behind the likes of Dwayne Allen (ankle), Jack Doyle, and Erik Swoope.

A former third-round pick, Coffman has endured relatively-fruitless stints in both Tennessee and Seattle before latching on with the Colts in July. With just 18 career receptions to his name and each of Dwayne Allen, Erik Swoope and Jack Doyle cemented above him on the depth chart, Coffman's year-to-year production is unlikely to experience a sudden uptick in 2016.
Coffman should provide depth at tight end in Tennessee, but his value will be limited as long as Delanie Walker and Anthony Fasano are healthy. The 28-year-old recorded 64 yards and a touchdown on six catches in 2014, but even matching that meager output could prove difficult if he doesn't move up the depth chart.
Coffman will battle Levine Toilolo for the right to serve as the second tight end in certain packages. Tony Gonzalez is the clear cut #1, but Coffman could put himself in a nice position in 2014 if he can beat out Toilolo for the second tight end spot, as Gonzalez has stated 2013 will be his last.
The Bengals frustratingly never dressed Coffman for game action last year, despite drafting him in the third round. He got a little banged up early on, and the team was never convinced that he could handle their blocking schemes. Now that Jermaine Gresham is onboard, his upside is limited with the Bengals, though the team has said that they'll occasionally use Coffman and Gresham together in two tight end sets.
The Bengals haven't had a productive fantasy tight end in a long time. They addressed their receiving shortcomings from the position in the draft by snagging Coffman in the third round this year. The big questions about Coffman are his durability and his blocking skills.
